COMMUNITY HEALTH - ND

Community Health Programme

The programme is a specialized professional training course designed to produce competent health practitioners. These professionals serve as the backbone of Primary Health Care (PHC) delivery, bridging the gap between clinical settings and the grassroots community.


Course Duration:

CHEW (ND) - 2 Years

Admission Requirements

A minimum of five (5) credits is required including English, Mathematics, Biology/Health Sci Chemistry and Physics in O'Level in not more than 2 sittings. 

NABTEB is acceptable.

ENVIRONMENTAL HEALTH - ND

ENVIRONMENTAL HEALTH - ND

The Environmental Health Technology programme is designed to train professionals who promote and protect public health through the prevention and control of environmental hazards. The programme equips students with the scientific knowledge, technical expertise, and practical skills required to identify, assess, and manage environmental factors that affect human health.

Students receive comprehensive training in environmental sanitation, disease prevention, food safety, waste management, water quality monitoring, pollution control, and public health inspection, preparing them to safeguard communities and improve environmental health standards.

  • Environmental Sanitation – Principles and practices for maintaining healthy and hygienic environments.

The National Diploma (ND) programme provides a solid foundation in Environmental Health Technology through classroom instruction, laboratory practicals, fieldwork, and community-based learning.


Admission Requirements

  • A minimum UTME (JAMB) score of 100 or the approved cut-off mark for the admission year.
  • Five (5) relevant O'Level credit passes in not more than two sittings, including English Language, Mathematics, Biology, Chemistry, and Physics.

HEALTH INFORMATION MANAGEMENT - ND

The Health Information Management (HIM) programme is designed to equip students with the knowledge and practical skills required to manage, protect, and utilize health information for effective healthcare delivery. The programme prepares professionals who play a vital role in maintaining accurate patient records, supporting clinical decision-making, and ensuring the efficient management of health information systems in healthcare institutions.

MEDICAL LABORATORY TECHNOLOGY - ND

MEDICAL LABORATORY TECHNOLOGY - ND

Medical Laboratory Technology is a cornerstone of modern healthcare. Professionals in this field perform critical diagnostic analyses on human and animal samples—including blood, tissue, and body fluids—to empower physicians with the data needed to detect, diagnose, and treat diseases accurately.
In recent years, the profession has expanded beyond the bench to include the production of biological products and the fabrication of specialized diagnostic equipment.

Course Duration and Structure
The Medical Laboratory Technology programme is a two-year (2) course designed to provide a balanced and comprehensive education. To ensure students are fully prepared for the healthcare industry, the curriculum integrates three core learning environments:
  • Theoretical Learning: Comprehensive classroom lectures covering the scientific foundations of the profession.
  • Laboratory Practicals: Hands-on training in controlled environments to master diagnostic techniques.
  • Clinical Postings: Real-world experience in hospital settings under the direct supervision of qualified, licensed Medical Laboratory Technicians.

Admission Requirements

A minimum of five (5) credits is required including English, Mathematics, Biology/Health Sci Chemistry and Physics in O'Level in not more than 2 sittings. 


NABTEB is acceptable.

Results more than 10 years are not acceptable.

PHARMACY TECHNICIAN - ND

PHARMACY TECHNICIAN - ND

The Pharmacy Technician Programme is a comprehensive professional training programme designed to prepare students with the knowledge, practical skills, and competencies required to support pharmacists in delivering safe, effective, and quality pharmaceutical care. The curriculum combines theoretical instruction with practical experience, enabling graduates to contribute meaningfully to the healthcare system.

Students receive training in a wide range of pharmaceutical disciplines, including:

  • Pharmacology and Medication Management – Understanding the principles of drug action, dosage forms, medication safety, and proper dispensing procedures.
  • Pharmacy Law and Ethics – Gaining knowledge of the legal, ethical, and professional standards governing pharmacy practice.
  • Pharmacy Practice and Operations – Developing skills in pharmacy administration, inventory management, pharmaceutical informatics, and customer service.
  • Pharmaceutical Compounding – Acquiring practical experience in the preparation of sterile and non-sterile pharmaceutical products.

To be eligible for admission into the programme, candidates must possess a minimum of five (5) credits in their O’Level results (WAEC or NECO). These credits must be obtained in no more than two sittings and must include the following core subjects:
